This webinar provides an in-depth look at the innovative programs and protocols in Prince George’s County, Maryland related to domestic violence (DV) cases. Presenters will describe the DV high-risk/high-lethality screening protocol and diversion program, both of which were developed during the COVID-19 courthouse closures to combat the rising number of DV-related homicides and incidents. This webinar will explain how these programs have overcome barriers to successful DV prosecution, such as mandatory case reviews and victim contacts within 48-hours. Viewers will also learn how trauma-informed practices can be incorporated into similar programs and policies related to DV, as well as the units that manage such cases.
