Resource mapping is the process of identifying and documenting community-based resources, such as social service providers, advocacy organizations, and legal services that support survivor safety, domestic violence homicide prevention, and services for the abusive partner to address their domestic violence risk. Community resource mapping can help communities to accomplish several goals, including:

  • Identifying new resources for survivors and abusive partners;
  • Identifying gaps and barriers to accessing resources;
  • Creating a strategic plan to ensure services are available to meet the needs of survivors and abusive partners; and
  • Enhancing collaboration and resource allocation
